adjustments
Apr. 20th, 2007 06:14 pmThis is the 3rd day of D.'s new job, and I think I'm adjusting a bit.
Mornings require some orchestration so that we don't step on each other's feet in the bathroom or kitchen. So far, he's getting up first to exercise and get to work early, so I'm showering while he works out and making breakfast while he showers.
I get home before him, so this gives me an hour or so of "alone time" to check email, tidy, and otherwise putter before cooking dinner. This is good because it gives me a chance to decompress before doing more stuff.
What's amusing is the feline response to the new schedule :P Thang and Other Thang seem a bit confused in the mornings and follow us downstairs. Kisia in particular is on alert because I think she enjoyed having a "stay-at-home human" and just watches him from the bed. She's also more affectionate at bedtime.
When I get home they both come downstairs, however briefly, which didn't always used to be the case - they'll never admit to getting lonely.
Now the weekend's here and we're really going to break their brains by going back on the old schedule... :P
