Some recent discoveries/oldies but goodies to supplement coffee and chocolate (aka Staffs Of Life):

  • Krispy Kreme doughnuts - the one ring to rule them all :P I don't have doughnuts often but when I do KK's classic glazed or cinnamon/powdered sugar are my cholesterol-laden beast of choice. Hideously sweet and light as air, they go well with the aforementioned Hallowed Bean. Beware: they are at the peak of their powers for only a few hours, ALWAYS get 'em fresh!
  • Stonyfield Farm lowfat yogurt - and this one's actually good for me! Pleasant yogurty tang replaces the unecessary sweetness of other brands, and it contains naturally colored/sized fruit instead of technicolor gigantic Frankenfruit(TM). I must admit though, I do like their chocolate one - rich smoky cocoa flavor instead of a gallon of sugar.
  • Cooler Ranch Doritos - I forgot about these until someone brought a bag to work a couple of months ago and I now have to deliberately avoid them like the plague because I can't...eat...just...ONE! My skin hates the spices but my tastebuds say oh, yes yes...
  • Baja Fresh tortilla chips - don't need guacamole, salsa or anything to dress them up. I could eat these plain all day.
  • Oreos - again with the can't stop at one. And spare me the double stuff, mint stuff, chocolate stuff - the original is junk food perfection!

Needless to say I don't keep any of these around the house (except the yogurt) because when they're around I can't leave them alone.

What goodies can y'all live without, but completely own your tastebuds if you find them nearby?

Edit: just realized that two of the above are still chocolate. So sue me - they ARE different from my usual yen for high-end premium chocolate (remind me to tell you about Dagoba's novelty choccies..)

Stonyfield Farms makes a whole milk organic yogurt, and it is the most luscious, creamy, delectable treat EVER. Plus, it comes in pear flavor. You pretty much have to have a baby to know about, because they only market it under the "Yo Baby" label.

(!) Not sure I've seen that - my local Safeway only carries the basics. Where are you getting it?

I get it at Superfresh, which is a garden-variety supermarket. It's with the kids' yogurt, the neon-colored stuff with sprinkles in it. It only comes in the 6-packs of small-size yogurt (4oz each). There's a picture of a baby on the top, and it says "Yo Baby."

Whole Foods definitely has it, though, if you can't find it at Safeway.
