Some recent discoveries/oldies but goodies to supplement coffee and chocolate (aka Staffs Of Life):
Needless to say I don't keep any of these around the house (except the yogurt) because when they're around I can't leave them alone.
What goodies can y'all live without, but completely own your tastebuds if you find them nearby?
Edit: just realized that two of the above are still chocolate. So sue me - they ARE different from my usual yen for high-end premium chocolate (remind me to tell you about Dagoba's novelty choccies..)
- Krispy Kreme doughnuts - the one ring to rule them all :P I don't have doughnuts often but when I do KK's classic glazed or cinnamon/powdered sugar are my cholesterol-laden beast of choice. Hideously sweet and light as air, they go well with the aforementioned Hallowed Bean. Beware: they are at the peak of their powers for only a few hours, ALWAYS get 'em fresh!
- Stonyfield Farm lowfat yogurt - and this one's actually good for me! Pleasant yogurty tang replaces the unecessary sweetness of other brands, and it contains naturally colored/sized fruit instead of technicolor gigantic Frankenfruit(TM). I must admit though, I do like their chocolate one - rich smoky cocoa flavor instead of a gallon of sugar.
- Cooler Ranch Doritos - I forgot about these until someone brought a bag to work a couple of months ago and I now have to deliberately avoid them like the plague because I can't...eat...just...ONE! My skin hates the spices but my tastebuds say oh, yes yes...
- Baja Fresh tortilla chips - don't need guacamole, salsa or anything to dress them up. I could eat these plain all day.
- Oreos - again with the can't stop at one. And spare me the double stuff, mint stuff, chocolate stuff - the original is junk food perfection!

Date: 2006-05-16 03:09 am (UTC)Mmmmmm ... lessee ... the newest on the list is Hershey Chipits Premium Dark Chocolate Chips (a brand new product and lethally chocolatey ... hopefully next time I'll be able to leave 'em alone long enough to try out the Decadent Double Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe on the back of the bag)
Pineapple juice and papaya juice (my healthy addiction ... I love fruit juices of all kinds but there's something about these two that makes me drain the pitcher as fast as I can drink ...)
And then there's Nanaimo bars ... (haven't eaten one since before I moved to Calgary ... they're just too dangerous to make or buy)

Date: 2006-05-16 11:22 pm (UTC)Oreos, any flavor, especially if there's plenty of milk.
My mother's coconut cake, from my Grandmother's secret recipe - - it's a slice of heaven she makes once or twice a year, and none can resist it's fluffy goodness.
Somoas - - coconut, caramel, chocolate - - don't touch my Somoas, people have lost limbs !! :P (Actually, anything with coconut is a temptation - - but if it's dark chocolate AND coconut, it will be mine, oh yes - - )
Cashews - - or just about any nuts, really; too fatty and salty for regular consumption, but when I'm in the mood for something salty I could easily empty a can unless I'm very, very careful.
Deviled eggs. I luuuurve deviled eggs like Ringtails love bacon, so it's lucky I only have occasional access to them.
