heirarchy of nerdiness

I'm pretty sure the correct conjugation is I am eccentric, you are geeky, they are losers....
Remarkably incomplete, though - I mean, how do, say, SCA folk view their geekiness as related, to, say, Amateur Sci Fi artists who can't get breasts right? To read this chart you'd think they are of equal geekiness, but is that really so?
It gives me pause that everyone thinks they're better than furries. I mean, I don't get furrydom (furry-ness?), but I figure they're hurting no one, and are far less frightening than ~50 year old anime fans who don't [ahem] costume to body type....
Enough with this rating, I say! Geeks, embrace your geekiness! Write fanfic with a new fury! Game with greater passion! And one can never have too many replica swords (unless they take up space of operational swords)...

Are you telling me I wasted all the time I spent on my Steel Angel Kurumi kosupure outfit, just because I don't look anything like her?!?! Damn! I even made robot ears!
Still, in the interest of civic order I suppose I could go with my backup plan and wear the official peeping tom outfit, which is very simple and pretty much a one size fits all deal. And if that's no good I can just ditch it all and go as a cameko.
And as an anime fan who insists on subtitles, I'm pleased to see that the chart has me near the top! Woohoo!

Date: 2005-02-09 09:13 am (UTC)personally I think I prefer "geeky" to "eccentric". at least in Swedish "eccentry" sounds awfully upper-class while "geeky" sounds more like I am quite good at something ;))
