the eyelid elevating moment
Jul. 2nd, 2004 07:05 amStill short on sleep, but better than yesterday!
I did get into my beading stuff this week and did up a quick lapis/copper bracelet while watching "Spiderman" (prep for Spiderman II). It's ok I guess, the colors "bounce" about as well as I'd hoped. It's hard to work with gemstone chips because they really need embellishment with something else or they just look like the strand you got at the store.
I'm also having trouble finding the donut beads I got back in February when I picked up rhinestones for the Pink Project - they were in a little paper bag and I could swear I put them with the rest of the beads, but as of this morning they are still MIA :P
Fencing at Chevy Chase went well - between the clash of metal and buzzing score boxes echoing off the walls, I think I heard a few bouts called in my favor (!) These folks are probably the most competitive local fencers, so I'm rather pleased with myself, even if I don't entirely trust the accuracy of the score box....
This weekend I'm going to try to rest and "detox" - far too much caffiene and junk food, and I really don't feel all that great this morning :/ It's been something of a lousy week, but at least that means it can only go uphill from here!

Date: 2004-07-02 09:09 am (UTC)Seeing your talk of beading is boosting my already stirring urges to get back into my cross-stitch projects ... my "current" one (from the Mirabilia collection) doesn't involve beads (just metallic filament for the wrought iron gates, which is a bitch to work with :P ), but I own several as-yet-unworked patterns from this series which involve beading and other fun stuff. So much to DO!!!!!!!! (I have made a form of progress ... I spent yesterday ripping apart, cleaning and re-arranging the spare room so that it's better suited for DOING stuff)
