Don't Go Texas
Dec. 17th, 2003 11:39 amWhile the fact that dildos are illegal to sell in Texas wasn't news to me, I find it astounding that this law is actually being enforced!
Actually, I'm not sure which is more disturbing, that this woman was arrested for selling a sex toy or that undercover narcotics officers are being employed to uncover such "crimes". I'm no fan of punitive drug laws but surely there is enough illegal drug trafficking/use in Texas that their narcotics officers shouldn't be wasting their time on this!!
My family almost moved to Houston when I was in 7th grade, but backed out. Thank the makers - I don't think I would have survived!

Date: 2003-12-19 05:57 am (UTC)!! Aha, a loophole! Maybe we can organize for donations to the needy people of Texas.
mental image: Dixie Chicks sitting in front of cosy fireplace with stockings up; Xmas tree off to the side. Each holds a brightly colored sex toy and an earnest expression
DC #1: Won't you please help us this holiday season?
DC #2: The people of our home state are denied the simple right to buy sex toys in the privacy of their own homes.
DC #3: So won't you please donate to the "Give a Texan a Dildo" fund? Your generous donation could guarantee orgasms this holiday season to those who currently have none.

Something tells me I ought not to try this writing thing this early in the morning...
