I was still seized with the cleanup bug today and managed to dust out and put away items in the kitchen and by my bed. The Neverending Pile is organized (or as close as it's going to get :P) I also recognized that for part of the stack it was time to face the fact that I'll never finish and reshelve them already.
One I'm calling it quits on is Outlander. I really wanted to love it because it's got everything a horny history book-nrrd could want: historical minutiae, time travel, a smart heroine, a hot kilted hero, and a complex, non-stereotypical-romance storyline. I got over halfway through, strung along by snippets of 18th century medicine, but ultimately it's not an obsessive page turner for me. I'm not listing it at half.com just yet as it's not bad and I might pick it up again on a lark sometime, but can anyone explain to me why so many are devoted to the series?
The household purge was caffiene-fueled and I find myself both twitchy and sleepy at the same time - not really pleasant; don't try it. I think I will get in bed with one of my newly excavated books and settle down a bit.
