I've already posted this link to various mailing lists that I'm on, but I think that the information this guy offers is important enough to send it this last time:

Art Bell Recent Program Archives - check out the Robert Young Pelton show from the 20th.

This guy did a fascinating interview because he is one of very few Westerners to spend more than a few minutes with the Taliban - he stayed in their camps, he didn't just go in for a day to get sound bites. I think his perspective is valuable because he is more familiar with the mindset of the Taliban and their supporters than any other speaker I've heard during this whole mess. I hope he'll get more play in the mainstream media.

If you listen to this let me know what you think. For the record, both D. and I were mightly impressed, even when we disagreed with him.

random tense thought

My sister flew out yesterday for a vacation with her friends in England (envy! sort of).

I'm going to assume her flight was smooth and landed safely because I haven't heard otherwise.

I just get a little twinge at the idea of anyone I know being on a plane right now. I know its illogical. I'm working on it.

New Rocks!

My New Rock boots arrived from England today! Amazing, because they only shipped on Friday. Now that's service. Just in time for cold weather, too!
