The Birthday Poll

Normally, I don't make a big fuss about my birthday. After about age 21, they don't seem to matter as much, and I usually don't tell friends when it is because I don't want them to feel obligated to buy gifts and otherwise make a fuss on a day that isn't that "landmark-y" anymore.

However, my 30th is coming up, and this seems worth celebrating, or at least making note of (notice: I'm not one of those people who greets my 30th birthday with dread and horror, far from it. I like even numbers, if nothing else :P).

hey, this is off topic, but you responded to my costuming community post and said I could get silk jersey at Dharma Trading -- i looked again, and they don't seem to have it. am i hallucinating?

and i have to post this here because the costuming community has been deleted. Do you know what happened?

Ok - I am the one who posted about the DYES at Dharma Trading, not the fabric. You are right though - I just looked up their silk fabrics at their site and they don't carry silk jersey (though, it seems, just about everything else!)

Re: costuming community - believe me, I am as confused as you are! It was there just a few hours ago!

Try re-posting your question to dressdiaries though - it's a new community and I have found the folks there to be very helpful!

okay - pivyca responded to your comment and said i could get fabric from them. since i couldn't see the post and just had to look in old emails, it got confusing as to who said that.

It should involve Hawaiian shirts of some sort. Don't ask me for more details, because I don't have 'em. Still, I must insist on Hawaiian shirts, particularly on cute girls. :)

You have no idea how glad I am to hear that. =) I swore off more big parties though until I hit forty, so I've got eight more years to figure out a good plan. =)
