anotheranonJust got back from friend C.'s birthday party. It was great to hang out with friends I can goof off around..something I don't do often enough!
My friend K. is in town but briefly - she's heading to Africa for studies over the summer. Though many folks have a dim view of traveling the third world I find the notion fascinating, and wish her well, with at least a little envy.
I've been reading my book about the abuses of the American press - very interesting, informative, and well written. I often wonder whether I really should read stuff like this, because it seems I am highly susceptible to being made even more cynical by everything I hear that is even mildly negative about the government/media/powers that be. Hell, I guess that's why I like Harry Potter so much - it's sweet, wholesome, fun, and just cool. Even Harry vs. the Bad Guys doesn't set off any alarms for me because Harry always does the Right Thing. Refreshing....
KisiaCat has "treed" a silverfish. Hope she kills him before he gets to my books.
Time for bed, or I certainly won't be refreshed tomorrow...
