May. 27th, 2002 10:21 pmHad a good day! Met up with
geekchick and friends for another round at the Jackie O exhibit. Fascinating yet again. I'm thinking that neoprene (the material used to make scuba suits - I think this is the correct name) might be the only modern fabric I can think of that approximates the smoothness and body of the wool/silk blend called "Alaskine" that was used to make many of the space age "Courreges"-type pieces. Note to self: find some Neoprene (or whatever it is).
We went out for coffee afterwards, and talked a bit with GC and friends. I'd never met these folks before but they were pretty cool, and I think I handled myself well :)
Got home and right on schedule at 7 the beautiful sunny day turned into a windy thunderstorm, the same way it has for the past 2 (3? 4?) days.
I walked a lot today, lifted weights (I'm up to 10 lb dumbells!) and changed cat litter. I am very well exercised, a bit sore, and will hopefully sleep very well tonight. I hope so at least - I got up early in preparation for going back to the weekday schedule tomorrow and ended up swilling several half-cafs to remain functional.
Tweaking the sleeves on the tail coat. I've been impatient so many times and rushed to complete the sleeves that I have several tops where they've never hung just right so I'm gritting my teeth to get it right this time.
