At least a B1 event means more chances for you to earn a new rating! :-D Have you had this event yet, and if so, how did it go?

By the way, I noticed your posts about doing rewire work, go you! I remember what a pain it was when I used to wedge my blades under furniture to keep them bent in an arc. If you're interested, I have an extra rewire chain someone gave me a while ago which I'd be happy to give you if we happen to run into each other fencing somewhere. (2 copper caps on a length of chain, used to keep the blade bent into an arc, makes life much easier) Are you doing Tractor Pull at BFC this weekend, by any chance?

I admit it didn't occur to me that higher rated fencers = more opportunity to earn a rating myself (I am one of those lowly "U" people :P)

You found me - the event in question is Tractor Pull this weekend! I did do it last year and remember it as a fun competition, challenging but no attitude, so despite my nerves I AM looking forward to it.

If you do have an extra rewire chain I and my doorways would thank you! If you like we can do a kind of trade - I just got a couple of fat spools of lame repair thread (http://members.shaw.ca/ubik/thread/index.html); if you like I can bring it and you can cut off whatever you need.

Sounds like a good trade to me! That thread would be a handy thing to have, especially as I think I might have some repair work looming. :-P

There's some chance I might skip the foil event on Sat and just do the epee on Sun, but if so I'll leave the chain when I'm up there tomorrow. Say, in a labelled envelope in the women's locker room, and maybe you could drop off a couple yards of thread for me. :-) I looked at the chain last night and thought it seemed a little bit short, but if you use pistol, it would be quite all right.

I'll keep a look out for you, but failing that a labeled envelope would work - if this is the same club as Tractor Pull last year I know where it is. I'll cut off a couple of yards for you and set it aside :)
