weekend recap

anotheranonBusy, full, weekend, but strangely not an overwhelming one:
D. and I did have our anniversary :) We were an obnoxiously cute "old couple", ordering in rich, rich Italian food and watching "The Blues Brothers" for the nth time - this movie remains incredibly funny with excellent music besides :)
Also, the futon is gone - rather than follow my usual approach of deciding to get rid of something and then setting it by the door for months on end, we dismantled it and took it out to the dumpster immediately. There's a large, very-clean spot on the carpet where it used to be. Not sure with what/if we'll replace it, but I am thinking another sofa bed might be nice.
Following it was another few garbage bags of Goodwill donations that HAD been sitting by the door. It feels good to unload :)
Sewing: all the sleeve panes are completed and basted together into a sleeve shape. Now I need to figure out how to set in the supports, puff, and panes into the armseye and still have enough room to get my arm in :P
Fencing: vigorous practice today following the Thursday practice/lesson = not in too much pain, but it's in the post. I'm trying to add a bit more length to my lunge using a tiny jump/slide, but I'm not comfortable being airborne. Still, I am physically capable of doing it, which is something.
The weather has cooled enough this evening to open the windows and while it's disorienting (it's not fall yet!) it is a pleasant change from the inferno that was July. The cats are cheerfully hanging their noses out the window :)
