anotheranonD.'s mom and aunt went home today. It's been lovely having guests, but I have to admit to a little bit of "hostess burnout" towards the end. I'm taking tomorrow off to decompress (and do laundry... and go see Episode 2 - cliche I know but there it is).
On Sunday we all went to see the Jackie Kennedy exhibit at the Corcoran. Must be seen up close!! There's just SOMETHING about well made clothes in the correct fabrics that cannot be duplicated on the cheap or easy. Even D. enjoyed it and he's nowhere near the costume geek I am. geekchick and would cheerfully see it even again.
We cleaned out a great many things before D.'s family got here, so we find ourselves stuck with a large box of old cassette tapes, and my efforts to find a place that still takes tapes in trade has come to almost nothing. Looks like it may be Goodwill that gets them. We've also managed to uncover some wall space, which is good because D.'s mom gave us a lovely Matisse poster.
Got my new music. Transglobal Underground's new one is would be fantastic if it were by any other band, but I am forever spoiled by their spectacular first album so it is merely good. (Also, as a reference, I'm finding a lot of my current favorite genre information here. And I thought I was one of maybe 8 people listening to this!)
