anotheranonFinally managed to get myself awake this morning. I have a pile of code cleanup at work and finished the 2nd (3rd?) Harry Potter audio book. Good stuff. Now he has a wizard godfather. Definitely more interesting than listening to the creaky gears turning in my head, or the phonecalls in Russian from my new office mate (yes, they are moving people around AGAIN. doG knows why, because we're all supposed to move to a new building at some nebulous point in the future).
Re: a list conversation about people over 14 having "crushes" - after all, past a certain age you don't exactly want to drag Cute Person to the junior high dance, so another term is needed to describe more adult desires. Sex Object? Lustmonkey? I'm sure the English language suffers every day for lack of such a word...and is anyone ever too old to have a "crush", anyway?
I am still cleaning up the guest room. It is amazing how much junk has collected while I slacked off. I threw away coupons that expired 2 years ago, and I still have a mousepad from the extinct Chickclick (they had their moments, it's a pity they died). I did finally manage to clear the bedspread of most of the cat hair at least.
Worked on the tailcoat, and am making some progress. The curved sides are not lining up as predicted; I will baste and tweak it tomorrow, if I have time before fencing.
I like this. I am always cold, even in summer (what cretin decided that A/C had to crank out at 60F?) and it might be a nicer alternative to wearing a hoodie. However, I've had problems in the past finding mandarin-collar jackets that fit (the arms mess up because of my non-standard bustline) so I'm going to sleep on it.
Time to finish up this room and go to bed, hopefully not to dream.
