domestic blitz
Feb. 11th, 2008 09:49 pmDoes anyone (local) want ~2 garbage bags of sheepskin scraps? You'd have to come get 'em yourself and you'd have to take them all, but they're free, free, FREE! I'll even throw in an overstuffed bum roll, 'cos I'm not using it either...
Not sure what possessed me, but this weekend I started an ambitious organizing campaign. The house is (relatively) clean, but cluttered, and most of it is mine - books, fabric and related trappings.
The dyes, their developers, and specialized prep/cleaners are now in their own Tupperware box. Most were sealed pretty tightly in their containers already, but now any unexpected spillage/breakage is contained and won't stain/eat through everything else in the basement.
The vintage rave flyers (from the 1990's - pop culturally speaking they're historic documents, IMHO) that I'm going to file (really, truly, one day) are now all in one place with their future acid-free storage. I got another bin for the fabric, which is good but simultaneously makes me think perhaps I need to be using what I have rather than creating storage for even more....
There is a great disturbance in my bookshelves - mostly that I have more books than shelf space, with last year's K.Zoo stash stacked on one side of my cutting table because I don't have anywhere for them to live - yet. I will find them a home, just as soon as I finish reading them (somewhen between now and infinity, surely...)
I jest but seriously - cluttered surroundings = cluttered mind and I'm tired of marveling that I can't get organized when I'm physically not. This, and I have no business starting new projects with this much junk lying around.
So, if you need sheepskin (makes great cat toys! Piece them together to make fluffy throw rugs and doormats!), lemme know.

Date: 2008-02-13 01:40 am (UTC)Oh YEAH... and if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you :P
As for LibraryThing - perhaps, but that's a whole separate endeavor to be handled after I can see my desk!

Date: 2008-02-13 01:42 am (UTC)It's a good thing you contacted me just now, as I was about to throw out a box that's the right size to ship it.
YEESS! A few cubic inches of space freed!
