Because for some reason LJ won't let me tack this after the poll:

I ask because I've not bought any music in several years and while I love the convenience of audio files, I don't know how likely it is that I'll find rare/reissued/out of print material converted to MP3. Besides, are the advantages of not having more discs cluttering up shelf space worth the loss of cover art/liner notes/the like?

I like .mp3's because I can carry a whole lot of them in a relatively small case. I can take a healthy portion of my collection with me everywhere. The tradeoff is cover art/liner notes but few artists put much effort into those lately. OTOH, I'm a nerd who likes to know who played the drums on track 5 or what sample was used on a song, etc. So not being able to easily look that up is a pain.
