The 5 Most Horrifying Bugs in the World. I'd fact-check before getting too wound up about them (I doubt ants can scream - no vocal chords), but I defy anyone to find anything cute or cuddly about any of these (I'm looking at you, tommdroid ;) )

The prose is pretty funny though - imagine Quentin Tarantino writing for National Geographic :P

I can't find any information about shrieking, but the bit about it being the most painful insect sting looks true. In South America, they use these buggers as part of manhood initiatory rites, where the initiate has to endure several stings at once. And we thought the beer bong was an appropriate initiation device...

I did cross check that, and - I think i prefer the beer bong :P

I do remember seeing some Animal Planet/Discovery Channel-type documentary some time though, that showed a researcher who had systematically desensitized himself to the stings through repeated exposure. Or maybe that was black widow bites....
