The 5 Most Horrifying Bugs in the World. I'd fact-check before getting too wound up about them (I doubt ants can scream - no vocal chords), but I defy anyone to find anything cute or cuddly about any of these (I'm looking at you, tommdroid ;) )

The prose is pretty funny though - imagine Quentin Tarantino writing for National Geographic :P

I'm sorry to say I wouldn't cuddle the Bot Fly. I knew about Bot flies, but I did not know of the human Bot fly.

Nature, and the insect World in particular, is indeed hard core. And there is alot of "eating alive" going on in the insect community. I think we ought to be very happy for the now lower amount of oxygen levels that prevents the insects from getting as big as they once were...imagine meeting with an flesh eating ant the size of a sheep...

personally I prefer to cuddle with insects that "look" horrifying, because they seldom are horrifying. But even I avoid insects that "do" horrifying things. Perhaps it's just as humans getting baffled when meeting life forms doing even more horrifying deeds than us humans.
