literary/fannish podcastery
Dec. 5th, 2007 09:47 pmOld Wounds, the Firefly "season 2 that never was". I've listened to the whole thing and was surprised how well done it was: the plot smells Whedon-ish, the voice actors sound, if not exact, then close enough to the TV actors to make you see Mal, Inara, River etc. in your mind's eye, and the writing keeps everyone mostly in character (Wash a bit too flip, Zoey a bit too terse). Recommended.
Severance: Firefly 'verse, whole new characters and setting on a crime-free moon about to go bad. Less an audio drama and more of a book-on-tape, but the story is compelling enough to make me wonder what's going to happen next - wish they'd continue.
The Metamor City Podcast - original audio fiction that I only just now discovered through DragonPage Cover to Cover; haven't listened to it yet but am certainly curious enough to put it in my podcast aggregator.
See, this is where two of my casual interests collide: how people use the Internet and how people use fandom/fiction to tell their own stories :)

The accents and acting level may vary for each production but it's fun to see where fans are willing to go to tell stories about their favorite characters!
