The Sound of Cylons. It's exactly what you fear it is. Lyrics may contain spoilers (I don't know, I'm not done with season 3).

I know there are more serious things going on in the world. I'm especially irritated that MD same-sex marriage rights got shot down (more ably blogged by Rivka, for she has been involved on the ground) and the Jena 6 still have no justice. The thought occurs that my time would be better spent making a list of charities to donate to on a regular basis. I know, I know </liberal guilt>. Until I get my shit together, at least I'm bringing some much needed laughs.

About 15 years ago, a filk group at a CastleCon did a song called "The Sound of Cylons" to the tune of Simon and Garfunkles "The Sound of Silence."

I still remember the opening line....

With news like that happening, we need all the laughs and sillies we can get. Wish Canada was a little handier for Marylanders to slip over the border for a wedding ... I know there's something in U.S. Customs law requiring recognition of other-country marriages as legal (including our same-sex marriage) and wonder if there's the same recognition clause in the rest of your legal system. If so, it's a potentially marvelous way to undermine the currently discriminatory system ...
