There are some things out there that I know little about but that just make me happy that someone is out there doing. Classic example: I have no need of a trebuchet, but I'm just happy that there are people in this world with the stick-to-it-iveness to build them. Likewise, that there are people getting together to create new languages.

Now from betnoir, I discover that there are Firefly fans dedicated enough to carefully take apart the fight scenes in the show and film. It's just elegant :)

Among the strange and sometimes destructive things I have done in my life, I have fired a full-sized trebuchet. It's not at all like firing a gun or a bow, it's sort of a slightly delayed action ballet of destruction. Okay, so I was only firing a melon into a pond- I could still imagine the destruction. 8-)
