ever been with a warrior woman?

Semi-inspired by last week's pretty (male) roughnecks, I compiled a list of a subset of warrior women - women with swords*:
Catherine Zeta-Jones from "Zorro"
Miranda Otto as Eowyn
Michelle Yeoh from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"
Maggie Cheung (fighting Jet Li) from "Hero"
Zhang Ziyi, also from "Hero"
Keira Knightley: from "King Arthur" and Pirates of the Caribbean
Sienna Miller (left) from "Casanova"
Grace Kelly, from "The Swan"
19th century engraving - anonymous
Women fencing ca. 1885, anonymous tintype
19th century images from Musee d'Escrime
Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee, Jedi
Adi Gallia, another Jedi
Aayla Secura, a Twilek Jedi
Aubrey Beardsley's imagining of Julie, Chevalier de Maupin
Walpurgis (left), from the Royal Armouries I.33 manuscript
And last but not least, Lucy Lawless as Xena
If you have or know of other photos of women with swords, feel free to share in the comments.
*'Cos I like swords. Besides, if I included women with knives and guns I'd never finish the list!

Date: 2007-06-26 03:04 am (UTC)Women with swords are definitely hot, mm-kay?
In fact, that's the main reason I like the book "King of Morning, Queen of Day" so much...because of Eithne, who fights the forces of Faerie with flashing electric samurai swords in parking lots at 3 am. I think I need to go read that again.
As for more women with swords, I think you'll like these:
Highlander, the immortal amanda (http://home.comcast.net/~brons/Maupin/Amanda.html); Red Sonja (http://www.thespinningimage.co.uk/cultfilms/images/192.jpg), and of course, Uma Thurman in Kill Bill (http://img.timeinc.net/time/asia/magazine/2002/0916/thurman.jpg)...yummy!
