Oscar picks
Mar. 26th, 2002 08:58 pmNo, I didn't watch last night (or was it the night before?). I just wasn't willing to watch a bunch of preening celebrities while waiting to find out who won everything. No, I read the coverage at E! Online.

- IMHO "Lord of the Rings" should have won for costumes. "Moulin Rouge" won, and while it does look great as well, LOTR had the added challenge of designing a whole fictional WORLD, not just basing on early 20th c. designs like MR. And they did it ASTONISHINGLY well.
- Denzel Washington is a good actor - he's had that Oscar coming for awhile.
- Granted, I didn't see most of the foreign language films this year (I am an ugly American, after all), but why didn't "Amelie" win??
- Speaking of "Amelie" - Audrey Tatou needed a better dress!! She's so Audrey-Hepburn-like, maybe she should have gone with Givenchy (or vintage Givenchy, anyway).
- Gwyneth Paltrow - even skinny girls need supportive lingerie sometimes. Not flattering.
- I liked Halle Berry's dress. Note, I say like, not love. None of the dresses featured at the E site really floors me; maybe I missed something.
