Went on a lingerie binge today. I've been craving "pretty things" for awhile - for a long time I either needed utilitarian things, or was so unsure of my bra size that I was reluctant to look beyond Target. Now that my size is stabilized/certain, I figure if I've got to be this, er, pneumatic, I might as well decorate them. So there.
Also fed the book beast. Book beast increasingly = crack habit, but at least I'm learning stuff. That, and try as I might I can always justify the money spent and space taken for books.
Had an interesting online chat about Christine de Pizan, a French writer of the later Middle Ages who had great influence and recognition in her lifetime. I'd read a blurb about her in "A Distant Mirror" but evidently this book hardly gave her her due. Fascinating. I've always enjoyed learning about women who "did stuff", especially from the past when it was much harder for a woman to do anything. Usually I end up reading about a queen who was able to live an extraordinary life either by birth or marriage, but this woman seems to have done it on her own.
Time to sleep.
