Wow, very interesting. So it just works if you use whips? The blurb in the link doesn't say anything about the effects of hand-to-arse physical punishment.

I'm no scientist, but based on informal field research, I'll say that if the objective is to get the endorphins going, hand-to-arse (or cane to arse, paddle to arse, etc.) will be as effective as whip-to-arse :)

However, using an implement is substantially easier on the whipper/paddler/caner's hand than using the bare hand :P
