And I obey the call:

The Unpopular Opinions Meme
01. Post this on your journal.
02. Your friends will comment with some of your fandoms.
03. In a new post or in comments respond back with one or two of your unpopular opinions for that fandom. (EX: I love Lana! I don’t care about previous seasons of Doctor Who!)
04. Tag some friends.

Fandoms: BtVS, Angel, Firefly/Serenity, Veronica Mars, Battlestar Galactica (the new one), Doctor Who (2005 and afterward), Lexx, Red Dwarf, Puppets Who Kill, Monty Python, The Tick (animated), Waking the Dead, Wire in the Blood, Farscape, House, Black Books, Smallville (and those are just the shows that spring to mind).

Tagged: whoever is inclined to play.

Ooh, so many to choose from! I'd like to know what you think of Veronica Mars, BSG, and House, please. (I also want to ask about Wire in the Blood, Farscape, and Black Books but I'll ask again in another comment.)

That reminds me, I should add House to my list!

Disclaimer: spoilers probably abound:

Veronica Mars: I never liked Logan, and I'm glad they broke up (even if he did the dumping). I recognize that he's supposed to be a messed up character and the audience is supposed to feel sympathy for him, but IMHO he needs to get his shit together before he dates anyone, and Veronica needs to date someone who isn't a jerk/milquetoast (Piz? Wallace? Mac?)

House: Wilson needs to grow a spine, and fast - the plot device of his indulging House because he needs to believe in the goodness of people or some such is being pressed too far (mind, I don't think I'm caught up on this season yet). Also, I know that Chase is supposed to be the fanciable one, but come OOOON - we all know it's Cuddy who's hot!

BSG (keep in mind, I've only seen about 3 episodes of the current season) - I don't hate Dee, I just don't see the Dee/Lee thing. And while Lee is aesthetically pleasing, IMHO he's still a bit cardboardy - but then, I'm thinking of the fact that Starbuck OWNS every scene she's in with him :P Also, I can't see what Six ever saw in Gaius (half man, half shivering, drowned chihuahua).

WORD. Why would V ever fall for the school's 'obligatory psychotic jackass' is beyond me. His daddy abuse issues felt like an obvious ploy tacked on by the writers to feel sorry for him. I didn't buy it.

Veronica needs to date someone who isn't a jerk/milquetoast (Piz? Wallace? Mac?)

Mac! Pick Mac, Choose Mac!

House: Cuddy won my undying devotion the moment she bared her bum and let House inject her with fertility drugs. Man, she is hawt!

BSG: I don't see the Lee/Dee thing either. You knew it was going downhill fast when she told him the reason why she married him was because of the ways in which he was like his father. And I agree, Lee is quite the 2-D, motivation-less character.

Your opinions may not be popular in their respective fandoms, but their quite alright with me! ;)

Mac is delightfully dry and snarky... when she manages to grab a corner of screen time - this season it really has been all about Veronica, Logan, and Sometimes Mr. Mars, but hopefully with the dumping we'll see more of everyone else.

Puppets Who Kill. Just because I'm curious to see if there IS such a thing as an unpopular opinion about it ... :p

I've got no idea what's popular/not in the PWK 'verse, but I will say that I think Buttons is possibly the funniest character, and Cuddles easily the most disturbing.

My favorite character of all though is still the stripper who pontificated on economics :P

Agreed ... that stripper is one of the most original notions ever to appear on television!

I think that Puppets is one of those shows that, because it exists at the extreme ends of loving it or hating it, isn't really ever going to have "unpopular" opinions ... a program has to exist closer to the middle for that to be possible. That said, I really think they need to do an episode where Buttons is kidnapped by a gay mad scientist puppet who has secretly lusted after him for years ... :p
