Salon has posted What's real in "Borat"?, a scene-by-scene guide to who was in on the joke, who wasn't, and who felt burnt by it.

Relieved to see that the nice elderly couple that ran the kosher B&B thought it was hilarious; depressed to see that the frat boys just don't get that being sexist and racist is still bad, even if the film of it won't ever be shown where you live :(

Commentary at Pandagon has more. Not cool was that the Romanian peasants weren't in on it, and weren't paid much either. Pamela Anderson and the "prostitute" WERE in on it, but aren't talking.

The whole Borat thing makes me vaguely uneasy in the same way that Andy Kaufman did.
