anotheranonWarning, not for the squeamish: An entire exhibit of bodies preserved by "plastination", replacing all body fluids with polymers. Sounds gross, and probably is to some degree, but fascinating. You get to see live and in person how everything under the skin works and is put together.
Is it art? Debatable, but it is certainly a good anatomy lesson. There has been substantial controversy about the exhibit wherever it's been shown so its not entirely sure if it will ever come to the states.
I guess my interest in something like this is similar to my interest in mummification and epidemiology - I can't explain it.
