...but it did, and I've been watching the TV coverage.

I only heard about this when I get to work. I often listen to NPR on the way in, but I chose a CD today.

None of us could get to any domestic websites offering news, and my office has only closed circuit tv and no radios. Ultimately, we all crowded round when someone from home (and regular media access) called, and I finally managed to get some information from Ananova and the Times of India sites.

The gov't sent us home at about 11.

I'm still in shock because these sorts of things just DON'T HAPPEN in the States but here it is, with a horrific body count and multiple targets to boot.

I did get in touch with my parents to tell them we're ok. They said "run for the hills!", only half joking. I don't think its quite that bad, but I heard a plane go over just a minute ago (probably military) and the temptation was great to throw the cats in their carriers and go.

I'm sitting here at my computer, watching the washingtonpost.com coverage and scanning photos from my fashion magazine stash - I feel like I ought to be doing SOMETHING, though I don't know why. Maybe I should eat.

I happened to be up unusually early this morning, and was online when it happened. We've been doing irc updates all morning. Sent my sister email letting her know we're all okay.
