sleep deprivation, day 4
Feb. 27th, 2002 10:43 am..and its not going too well. Due to inability to stay asleep, getting to bed late, and waking up early I've not slept properly in maybe a week and a half, and unlike my youthful college years I'm not handling it too well.
I'm lucid but hardly creative, and am struggling to remember even the most minor things (get bus pass. refill prescription. buy oatmeal). I nearly cried this morning, I know not why. Coffee is working but my eyes are tired and stomach is upset.
The weather also took a turn for the worse, the effects of which only reinforce my suspicion that the human DNA that is supposed to keep body temperature at a toasty 98.6 simply doesn't work in me - my version of the DNA thinks that I'm a snake or other cold-blooded creature, and probably one that should be hibernating every time the temperature falls below 70F. My jeans feel like paper and my sweater and coat make no difference at all. Thank <deity> for New Rock boots, which incredibly do their job and keep my feet very warm.
I must must MUST get to bed early tonight. Like 8 or 9. I've asked D. to do some of the end-of-evening chores I usually take on myself (feed cats, do dishes) so I won't end up staying up late to do them.
Enough bitching. My break from XML class is almost over - despite my droopy eyes and cold hands I'd say this is one of the more productive training sessions I've ever attended - I actually *get* it and feel like I'll retain this information outside the confines of this class.

Lunchtime re-evaluation - my ability to soak this up just stopped. I get to spend the rest of lunch break trying to wrap my head around just why XML schemas find it so necessary to state and re-state the same damn namespace name over and over...

Date: 2002-02-27 07:58 am (UTC)What IS it with this week? I've been suffering from insomnia and my coworkers haven't been sleeping well either. Must be something in the air, which I hope clears out soon. I need to get more than 5 hours of sleep a night in order to be coherent.
