FYI, but not like at least half of y'all didn't know this already :P

Introverts are territorial. Someone cannot take your seat, move your stuff, lean on your desk, ignore your closed door or borrow your clothes without making you very angry.

Not angry, but discombobulated, certainly. The "my cave, my cave!" response.

Introverts value privacy. When your boundaries are disregarded, when someone has a loud personal conversation on their cell phone in your captive presence, such as waiting in the checkout line at the grocery store, you can be annoyed and offended.

Yes, a thousand times yes! I feel chronically rude if I hear half a phone conversation, even if I know the parties on both ends :/

Introverts prefer to communicate in writing. They may feel exhausted by too much verbal communication that “isn’t going anywhere”. Introverts hate small talk.

Hello phone phobia....

Except, just for the record, I personally am neurotic :P Just not ALL of us.

I'd say that I am mostly introverted.

I have no problem with talking to people, although I'm NOT a big telephone person. And I don't really care about people talking on cell phones near me, once I figure out that complete strangers aren't actually having a conversation aobut deeply personal issues with me. But the part of the definition of Introvert that really fits me is the need for alone time. I have to be able to be away from people to maintain my sanity. I react to stress by 'going to ground'. I got my own apartment as soon as I could possibly afford it so that I could be ALONE whenever I wanted to be and one of the tings that makes me craziest about living with my dad is that he doesn't get the concept of ALONE and missed that whole personal space concept. It feels like psychological sandpaper!!!!

Let's hear it for Introvert Power!

I hear you re: the being alone and people who just don't get it. Strangely, though my family are largely introverted, when I was a kid I could never get them to wrap their heads around why I needed to close my bedroom door, and why I hated it when they'd just knock and walk in.

I suspect many "creative types" are at least somewhat introverted - need to have "alone time" to work on ideas, etc.!
