new year's and suchlike

Had a very quiet New Year's evening at home, watching more Buffy and smooching on D. I think my cold is mostly gone, but fear D. may be picking it up. Cats are well, and between their new toys and leftover wrapping paper, have been partying like rock stars :P

Also resting from the winter conference that just finished today (longer post for interested parties later). Short version: fun, intimidating and thought provoking on multiple levels. Also very busy as these con-events often are: I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow :P

I can't believe it's the new year; I really can't believe that we're into the 2nd half of the decade and the best "catchphrase" for the 2000s is still "the millenium" (which one?) Why not "the Zips"? Why not something similar to the Roaring Twenties - perhaps the "Naughty Aughties"?

I'm also sure I have some resolutions to write down, but not yet.

I am well aware of baaaaabyanimals, and would waste hours and lives away if it were on my friends list (which is why it isn't):P I do check in occasionally though :)
