Not feeling too hot tonight. I'm fighting a cold and in the interest of long term good health I decided not to go out in my fencing whites, jumping and lunging around and working up a sweat. This peeves me, but I figured it would be smarter to rest.

My car tires have still not arrived. D. and I are both grumpy about this. Remind me never to order tires from this vendor again, especially during the Xmas shipping rush :P

Work is quieting down for the season. We had the office party today which.. well, going seemed like a good idea at the time, I thought it might be prudent to make an appearance. I'd forgotten how theatrically awkward these things are. At least the mashed potatoes were good (but little else - it was a very starchy day).

We've been watching Buffy seasons 2 and 3 again - I've finally seen the episodes where Angel goes bad, then good again. Bad Angel (Angelus) is infinitely more fun, especially when he's tormenting someone. I must be reading more into that than Whedon intended, surely....pity the actor is so sadly Neanderthal-browed :P

For one reason or another I don't get terribly drooly about anyone on "Buffy", though I love the show. Giles and Willow get geek points, but otherwise... not so much. Not even Spike [shrug]

Funnily enough, I was thinking about the airbrushed/photoshopped "improvements" thing just before reading this post, when I took a better look at the cover of my Serenity DVD while doing my cataloguing record ... Summer Glau's (River) picture has been quite unnecessarily enhanced with a ton of eyeliner and much larger breasts (probably other stuff as well, but those were the items that were immediately noticeably wrong). :-(

True about the magazine covers, but it's fun to touch up pictures of oneself. I had Mikey G. do several photos of me two years go -- whitening teeth, airbrushing skin to even out tones -- and it was a great ego boost. I am not naturally photogenic, so I need a bit of help. :)
