Don't try to squeeze in ~100 crunches right before bed. You'll hurt tomorrow. So don't do that.

Yeah, I burnt the candle at both ends last night and I paid for it today. I'm also not getting enough sleep and am suffering for it. I'm fervently wishing for a snow day tomorrow so I can rest and recoup for the weekend.

Related: found this post on brain exercises and am nodding (relatively) vigorously. Especially about coloring - that can be terrifically relaxing! What do y'all do to keep your brains in shape?

I think costuming helps with the brain function. Figuring out how to tahe something from a drawing to a completed outfit takes a lot of different mental skills. Though I may be just trying to justify my fabric stash...

Expert-level crosswords. Logic problems and ana-crostics. Math puzzles. Jigsaws without consulting the picture on the lid (my jigsaws aren't the standard sky-at-the-top landscapes ... they're of things like a heap o' sewing needles with one whisp of hay, layers of crayons, black cats on black backgrounds, etc., so that you're forced to perceive shapes instead of colours). Balancing my bankbook (or doing any other household math) with pencil'n'paper or with an abacus instead of a calculator. Plus my job is a whole brain aerobics department on its own, since it requires the constant juggling and connection of information. Plus reading all kinds of stuff just for the fun of learning new things. :-)

Jigsaws! Now there's something I've not done in an age...

Then it's long past time to do one. Easily found on the cheap at garage sales, fleamarkets and secondhand stores (fleamarkets are the best bet for no missing pieces). :-)

Brain exercises. Jeez, I'm the one grading other people's brains. I don't need no steenkin' exercises. :ppppppp

Although, if you wanted to use your brain, dearest darling Allison, there's a poor pitiful little Llita waiting... *pokles tenderly*
