red satin stays - update
Feb. 3rd, 2002 09:57 pmFinished! Just finished sewing on the aiglet to finish the ravelling end of the lacing.
Even though it is a front lacer it is still HELL to get over my head to put it on - it felt like I was about to pull both arms out by the roots! D. will still have to act as "ladies' maid", but at least once its on I can lace it up myself.
Now to think of something to go under it. G. suggested a tux shirt, but I think I need a one piece thing - the front point of the stays goes down extremely low so any separate pants/skirt would be pressed down or in. Maybe a floor length shirt dress? Or maybe a plain cotton kimono of some sort...given my shape (stays push up but don't nip in - I still look like a solid cylinder, no waist AT ALL) it would look like an armored obi; but the shirt would look better with the style....just thinking out loud....
Another Scarlett moment - I will think about this tomorrow. Despite food I just did too much today and am tired (the melatonin an hour ago didn't hurt).
Currently reading "Deadly Feasts", sent by my dad who thought it might be of interest due to the fact that much of the prion research was done at my workplace, or by doctors/scientists affiliated with it. Interesting so far, well written too.
