Dreary gray morning - not cold yet, but it will be. I'm very pleased though because I'm wearing new socks - fluffy and thick. It's amazing how the smallest things can make me happy.

Winter happy makers:

Clothes: socks (of course!), in many varieties - reinforced sole, polarfleece, knee high. I'm especially pleased with my new stripey knee high socks, as they go well with the "crazy cat lady" image I'm trying to cultivate :P Shearling booties on top of socks in the coldest weather are very heaven :)

Food: Cocoa and Irish coffee, in that order, because I need more calcium (incidentally, it would take 88.88 cups of brewed coffee to kill me. Good to know...). Brunswick stew and tomato bisque soup are also warm, fluffy foods :)

Polarfleece blankets also help, when I can wrestle them away from the cats ;)

What makes super cold (or for cold-seekers, extreme heat) berable for you?

What makes me warm?

A warm wife to cuddle with, of course.

A stein of tea or warmed apple cider.

A little lap time with a purring cat.

(This is D.)

And being D.:

The winsome warmth of a purring 'puter.

This, my dear friends, is evidence of what a cool dude my husband is. He's FAR more romantic than I [blush]!

He's certainly lived up to MY expectations of what I'd expect you to choose for lifemate. :-)

Coffee or hot chocolate, a warm, fluffy blanket, and a good book or movie. :):)

A good book can make all the difference :)

For Tim, fleece lined slippers and my voluminous black hooded terrycloth robe, a hot cup of cocoa or bowl of something hot and filling. I like being warm - -

And Char has me, as I apparantly throw out the heat like I was radiocative. :)

Hot chocolate (as if you couldn't guess that one), tomato soup with a generous splash of tabasco sauce, anything involving melted cheese (REAL cheese, not the scary orange plastic stuff that comes in individually-wrapped slices), the afghan I finally finished knitting a couple of years ago.

And if all that doesn't work, I pop my copy of Quintet into the VCR ... watching a fur-bundled Paul Newman stumble 'round in all that ice and snow makes me feel much warmer where I am. :p

winter cozies

-My boyfriend, who radiates extreme heat even in the deadest of winter
-My featherbed
-My cat
-An overheating laptop
-A big mug full of fresh, hot COFFEE
-My fleece stripey slipper socks that make said BF crack up :)
-A very hot shower
-Earmuffs for my ears which apparently are totally lacking in any type of circulatory system

But then I don't have to worry much about the cold since we just broke 80 degrees today down here. Can't wait to go to Greece where they have a REAL winter!
:)

Hot showers are most excellent, but they dry me out :( I would add to my list: fish oil tablets, to keep me from feeling like a scaly monster!
