I think my sweet tooth may be dead, or, at least dying. Here I am sitting on my refreshed cache of Dark M&Ms (I've not forgotten about you, [livejournal.com profile] jlsjlsjls, I've just been procrastinating) and I've felt little urge to munch on them. Even the Viactivs that I really should take to rebuild my bones are irritatingly sugary, so I wash them down with coffee (now with 10% less caffiene):P No, what I want lately is salty, savory, and meaty foods. I'm adding more chicken and cashews to my vindaloo every time I make it!

I'm reminded by this post that vegetables still exist and are good for me. To be fair, I'm getting quite a few in various stews but little in the way of fresh/raw. Ditto fruits - fresh fruit is usually served cold and when the temperature drops I want everything cooked/hot. Steaming apple turnovers and fresh-from-the-oven apple pie count, right? :P

The entire house smells of cornbread because I made three (1 jalapeno, 2 plain) for tomorrow. Two go to work tomorrow for the office Halloween/international potluck. Tiny problem - when this shindig was planned, none of the planners knew that it's the middle of Ramadan. Oops! :/

I've had the salty food craving lately too ... interesting. And, with the cold weather, renewed interest in gooey melted cheese of all kinds.

P.S. Have a couple of bags of Coffee Crisp minis for you ... will try to get 'em in the mail this weekend.

P.P.S. In the winter, fresh fruit/veggies at room temperature taste just great, without giving one tummy chills.
