fencing notes

I'm not sure which is more disturbing - that fencers half my age and size yet twice my speed routinely kick my ass, or that I'm old enough for there to be fencers half my age that are that have years of experience. Damn! To be fair, they've probably been competing from childhood and have the distint advantage of younger/faster reflexes.
Went to my coach's other club, the one where all the serious competitive fencers practice and get lessons. I seldom win but that's not always the point - unless you fence people better than you there's no hope of improving. And CCFC's fencers are very good - I consider myself lucky if I score one touch per 5 point bout against them. [Here I would insert some Chinese cursing for geekgirl effect, but it's too early and I'm too lazy to look it up.]
Deeply tired this morning but seem to have more energy overall lately - I know that sounds contradictory. Let's see if I can make sense of it today...
