Oh you can believe I trotted down to Borders and bought that little beauty the other week. And I also bought "Finding Serenity: Anit-Heroes, Lost Shepherds and Space Hookers in Joss Whedon's Firefly".
WUNNERFUL books!!! And the Finding Serenity one has a Mandarin phrase dictionary in the back.
Thanks for being the person with the knowldge ... these background books seem to be either great or disappointing and I wanted to be sure I was ordering treasure. :-)
Can't wait until the rest of you have seen the film so we can natter and theorize and all that fun stuff!
I know ... thought of warning you to take a hanky, but that would have been too much of a plot giveaway. It left me breathless ... need to see it again as soon as the theatres calm down.
P.S. Thanks to your convincing review, I bought "Finding Serenity" (and have read three very impressive essays already) ... and ended up talking the bookstore cashier into going to see the movie (she was quite curious, since she'd seen a lot of Serenity stuff being purchased, but didn't know anything about the movie or the TV series ... however she DID recognize Joss Whedon's name ***grin***).
Understandable confusion ... we were once again indulging in our habit of using somebody else's LJ for our nattering ***hands Gigi a giant, calming mug of tea***
