mini movie reviews
Sep. 19th, 2005 10:42 pmNo daytime tv for me! In the past week I've seen more movies than I care to count! Ok, not all of these are since Weds. but most are:
Dude, Where's My Car? - Bill and Ted for a new generation, dude, sweet! I liked the bubble-wrap UFO nuts and think this definitely has potential for cult-classic status. Having said this, I'm not sure I'm capable of sitting through it again without inebriation or sleep deprivation :P
Neverwhere - had seen before, but not in awhile - excellent, as always :) The actress who plays Door could play Death in the Sandman casting of my mind's eye. I am also reminded that if I ever have two male cats I'm naming them Vandermar and Croup, especially if they're good mousers :P
A Dirty Shame - John Waters casts Tracey Ullman and to tell us that our kinks are ok! This is high art cheez - go see :)
The Hebrew Hammer - I'm sure almost every ethnicity is insulted somewhere in this film - quite funny, actually, if you don't take the stereotypes seriously.
Dodgeball - This has GOT to be by the same people who did Zoolander - it has Ben Stiller in an equally over-the-top role and was more fun than the commercials made it out to be!
Fingersmith - It's a BBC drama based on a Sarah Waters novel, 'nuff said. Hie thee to the BBC America site and get them to air this! Lexx fans note - you'll notice that Gentleman is played by Xev's butcher boy-toy from "Prime Ridge".
I'm sure there were more, but I likely slept through at least parts of them :/
