Thank you! ***bookmarks*** Here's Moebius strip for beginners page that will make the structure a little easier to understand ... moebius bands make wonderful, warm scarves that can be worn in a variety of ways (including as a hood) without worrying about them slipping, loosening, or untying. The projective plane makes an excellent hat ... I've seen several knitted hat patterns based on Klein bottles (which are a type of projective plane). Recently, too, I've been seeing a lot of knitters and knitting patterns using http://www.magknits.com/chilly04/patterns/fib.htm to determine stripe placement. We're surrounded by math without even realizing it! :-)
