custom mods, X-Men style

Inspired by a post over at misia's:

If you could have any modifications to your basic body, what would they be?

I don't mean the usual "lose 10 pounds", "have whiter teeth", etc. I mean something beyond the realm of current medical science.

Me, I'd want voluntary fertility and brain backup capability. And retractable razor claws, like Molly in "Neuromancer", just 'cos they're kewl :P

As it happens, dglenn and I were discussing this very subject just a few *ahem* years ago. We decided that dual spines would have some useful properties (this was before they showed up in Star Trek). I wanted rotatable pinnae like cats have. He wanted dual thumbs (one on each side) for increased grip and guitar-playing ability. And blue fur. Gills would be useful too.

Dual spines - or a backup spine - might be very useful indeed :) And a super-articulated one like a cat would safe so, so much trouble!
