After a week of long commutes in hot weather in a car with no air conditioning, I am forced to consider that it might be a really good idea to get that A/C fixed.

You may notice by the time and date that I'm posting that I'm not at fencing. After 2 hours baking on the Beltway I could.....NOT.... face getting back into that infernal car again.

And if I was cooking, I shudder to think of what happens when D. finally gets a job, and we're sharing the car for awhile - there's no way he'd be able to arrive at an office in any presentable state :(

I think I'm going to try to put into the shop while I'm visiting [livejournal.com profile] hadesgirl - that way I have a rental for the drive and the car's being fixed while I don't need it in town.

That sounds like a good idea. AC is one of humanity's greater inventions, LOL! I KNOW you've been suffering, if your humidity has been like our humidity. Can't wait till it breaks. It sure will be nice not to need two or three showers a day.

Sounds like a good plan to me. I can't imagine driving that far without AC. Hell, I don't like driving the 5 blocks to the store without AC.

I sympathize

My car a/c doesn't work either. This means mandatory cool showers when I come home in the afternoon, followed by a 15 minute lie-down, cursing the heat and the humidity the whole time. I'll be using student loan funds to get the thing fixed.

I can usually suffer the 20-30 minute drive to work, but it's been running 1-2(!) hours each way. Speeding along it's not so bad but when you're just sitting there.....I've stunk of sweat and diesel fumes for days :(

Wow that's an awfully long time to be stuck in traffic. I hate this global warming!

MUST have AC!! If my glasses don't fog when I get out of the car, then something is wrong! :p

Sounds like everyone is in the killer heat/humidity purgatory right now. I made tuna for Char tonight not because of an insane love of tuna but because I simply could not conceive of turning my oven on - - the brick in the back side of the house gets too hot in the afternoon, and takes a while to cool back down.

Oh yes... A/C... a must have! Although I don't tend to use it as much as other folks, I 'spect. I like it a bit hotter than most.

I feel like such an oddball; I've never owned, nor desired to own, a vehicle with air conditioning. :p
