Jan. 16th, 2002 09:20 pmD. and I went to see "Amelie", which I'd meant to see for a few months and just never got around to seeing. Wish I had earlier - what a cute, quirky little film! It seems to be all about the little things that you never think about but that make a such a difference. The actress in the title role was awesome - talented and looks like a cross between Audrey Hepburn and Bjork to boot. Definitely need to find other movies that she's been in. Also definitely going to get "Amelie" on DVD when it comes out.
There's been little to say in the past few days.
For some reason I cannot get or stay warm for more than a few hours at a time - even covered up with sheets and comforters at night I'm too cold.
In trying to eliminate excessive carbs from our diets, D. and I have discovered that the only thing we have consistently on hand that isn't rice or pasta is.... canned tuna. The cats are thrilled. We've had tuna melts for dinner twice this week and I have no idea how much more D. has consumed in the past few days given that his normal breakfast (muffins) and lunch (?) are right out.
I'm going to get a blood profile done on Monday to see if I have the same (or different) dietary evils to eliminate.
I've backed off sewing for the past couple of days. Given that my workplace has taken a net-policing attitude towards internet use, I have spent the past few evenings taking care of things I would normally have done when work was slow - looking for healthy recipes, checking mail, reading news.
Speaking of which, better get back to all of that.

By the way, C. suggests that perhaps brown rice and whole wheat pasta might not be so bad. I should take his advice too, as cutting down on carbs drastically might help with my weight loss if not necessarily my health.

Date: 2002-01-16 07:48 pm (UTC)As for whole wheat pasta - I looked for it before for one reason or another and was never able to find any. If C. or anyone knows of any groceries that sell it I'd be interested.
