• Distance matters, even if it's only inches.
  
• Speed matters - if your opponent hesitates, get 'em!
  
• Attack within your own measure, NOT that of your opponent.
  
• Advance and hand-parry to get into your measure, if that's what it takes.
  
• If you can't "find" (take advantage of) your opponent's blade, don't attack.
  
• If you find and lose, retreat, retreat, retreat!

Had fun, but somewhat aggravating - even with protective gear I got the wind knocked out of me! But hey, how else will I learn?
