about the weather

The weather here has been strange - ok, not today, which is behaving in a more respectably winter-in-the-mid-Atlantic type of way (40F and raining), but the rest of the time - damn!
There are geese wandering around like lost extras in a play, not sure if they're supposed to be in this scene. It's been unseasonably warm, in the 60s and sometimes up to 70(!), sunny, mild, temperate, perfectly normal - for April :P
Much as I hate winter, hey, I'll take it, but I'm having nightmares about what's in store for us if it doesn't freeze up cold and soon: mosquitoes the size of prop planes with GPS and temperatures so high you won't need a car hood to fry eggs :/
My tour 'round the far corners of LJ have gained me not communities, but feeds this time:

Also sneaking around the American Historical Society's 2005 Annual Meeting Program - envy!! At least the next few years' meetings are a little closer to home [le sigh]...
Just finished doing a bit of writing and a bit of Smallville-viewing; now trying to figure out where to best do more damage while waiting for my copy of "Tipping the Velvet". It's a toss up between reading or sewing (next layer new corset)....
