Two exhibits I'd LURVE to see, and wouldn't you know, neither is coming here?

Body Worlds: The Anatomical Exhibition of Real Human Bodies, L.A. and Chicago - first heard about this during it's time in London; may be morbid to some but I'm utterly fascinated.

Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharoahs, L.A., Chicago, and Ft. Lauderdale - I saw the 1977 tour from my dad's shoulder (I was 4. He carried me. I slept through most of it). I always thought I'd have to go to Cairo to see these artifacts, but now they're here in my own country and the exhibit isn't even coming to the capital!

Clearly I need to go to L.A. and/or Chicago this year!

Tut in Chicago again! Woo-hoo! I saw it at the Field in '77, too. When I was in fifth grade, my dad pulled me out of school to go up there from Indy on a Friday. His logic: I'd learn more from that than a day of fifth grade. Funnily enough, my fifth grade teacher agreed with him. :-)

Must find dates for Chicago run. I think I'd appreciate it even more than I did then, which was a lot for an eleven-year-old.

Good for your dad! I'm glad I went when I was so small, though I remember very little. I feel OBLIGED to find a way to get to either the L.A. or Chicago exhibits this time around!

If you find Chicago dates, let me know.

At least they come to somewhere in your country ***glumly looking at exhibition schedules with a conspicuous lack of "Canada" in 'em***

That is the greatest icon ever. What is it?

I saw Tut in the 80s I think. Wasn't that impressed, could have been that I was 11... BUT it looks likely that I'll get to Cairo this April! WHOOOO! Any suggestions?

Fizzgig, from Jim Henson's "Dark Crystal" (a puppet - thankfully, NOT a real animal!). I stole it from [livejournal.com profile] wendyzski who found it over in [livejournal.com profile] baaaaabyanimals.

Look at that - the least enthused among us is getting to go to the center of it all! :P At least hit the Cairo Museum and Gaza Plateau for me!!
