If you've not seen it, I highly recommend The Power of Nightmares , a BBC documentary about how the American Neoconservative movement and the Muslim fundamentalists have both used fear to further their agendas. D. and I watched the first two parts tonight and it's one hell of a history lesson!

Especially see this if you're American, even if you have to lie/cheat/steal to do so - not sure why it was never aired here (come on, BBC America and PBS still exist, you know!)

This DOES look good! Tried a quick hunt last night to see if there was a companion book. No luck, which is a shame; BBC series companion books are wonderful, usually containing the entire content of what was televised, plus much more!

I'll have to scout through Canuck listings and see if anybody's broadcasting it up here (although I shan't hold my breath ... BBC has a pretty strong policy about no foreign sales of their programming until one year after first British broadcast).
