Rather busy-but-standing-still weekend. I'm catching up on the mass mounds of laundry from last weekend, finally, furiously loading between washer and dryer so I have something to wear next week.
Also loving the cool, sunny weather! This morning on the way to the grocery, I looked overhead into a cloudless sky and saw a tiny flock of birds, high above. Fly one way, they are almost invisible, but when they turned their little bellies reflected so it looked like sparks - just beautiful :)
I chose the next selection for my embryonic book club - you guessed it, Tipping the Velvet :) Because I've read it so recently, I'm doing additional reading on Victorian London's criminal, theatrical, and homosexual undergrounds to put the the book in some kind of historical context.
jlsjlsjls, your suggestions have been taken in hand and I'm scouring the libraries.
Also working on "She Captains" and Body of Secrets in turn, so as to knock out some of my stack of currently checked out to make space for the 3 I've got transferring in this week for the book club :P Also trying to rationalize not getting this and this as my library has neither (yes, the latter has nothing whatsoever to do with Victorian London, but one can't have everything :P)
I've also started moving my buttons/other "closure" sewing odds and ends (including the reproduction dress hooks I picked up at the Symposium) and thread/embroidery floss into the "thread chest" that
hadesgirl and
mjpg foisted on me last weekend (oh, suffer, suffer! :P). I'm very grateful for this gift, y'all - I'm finally organizing some of my space while simultaneously keeping small, dangerous objects away from little paws and mouths (belonging to feline housemates who shall remain nameless, because they would never do anything bad like that - ever!) ;)
Brunswick stew from cans tonight for dinner - wooohooo!
Addendum: Also finally got my hair cut! It feels soooo good to have this mess off my ears and neck!
